No idea, I have never used this software but also you have cut off any context from the screenshot so this could be any number of dialogs. You will likely find an answer here though: The KMyMoney user manuals | KMyMoney
it can be used for anything you want - any number which is relevant to a transaction. Most commonly it is the check number, but that applies mainly/only to checking accounts.
Well, since the version carries a git hash (e64177e in this case) it might even be a newer version than announced on the KMyMoney news page. This blog post explains how KMyMoney versioning is setup. Yours is created in step 3.

If you mean the number field by “it” the answer is no.
you cannot disable it in the data-entry form of the ledger BUT you can disable it (i.e. hide it) in the ledger itself when showing transactions. Right-click on column header and untick the “number” column.
