Is there a way to hide mouse cursor?

KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.103.0
QT Version: 5.15.8
Distribution: Debian Bookworm
Graphics Platform: Wayland

Is there a way to hide mouse cursor when an app is in full screen mode such as chromium?
With Xorg it is achievable with unclutter. Can’t find anything that would do the same in Wayland plasma.

Thanks for your help!

This is KDE bug 470105 which is resolved as “intentional”.

Some people are talking about using this thing which causes the mouse cursor to move to a corner of a screen after a few seconds - I have not tried it and it doesn’t sound all that great to me.

I would also have liked to see X11’s unclutter behavior in KWin Wayland, but that does not seem to be in the cards for us :frowning:

@baba:

What I’m seeing with Mozilla Firefox while streaming full screen videos is, that the mouse cursor disappears after a few seconds – until I move it again …

And when taking Screenshots with Spectacle, there’s an option to include or, exclude, the mouse cursor …

Thank you!
I stay away from patching from outside sources if I can.
Agreed, it would have been nice to see unclutter type feature in kwin too.

The mouse cursor stays when using chromium in fullscreen mode.
