I have a face database where I have already previously confirmed around 5,000 faces, and have been working now and then on confirming more. After a long break from Digikam, I just started again and now I experience the following:
Each time I confirm (or reject) a suggested face recognition, Digikam restarts face scanning of the whole collection. If click to stop that process, another face scanning process is spawned. The first process then does stop. If I cancel the newly spawned process, it also stops. As soon as I then confirm another suggested face, the scanning starts again…
I am running 8.8.0, and I am not certain when I started seeing this behaviour (after the latest upgrade or earlier).
I have done a database clean and a rebuild of all training data. That did not get rid of the problem.
Is this expected behaviour or a bug? Trying to confirm suggestions while the scanning runs all the time is not a great experience, especially, since the scanning by finding new candidates interferes with the presented thumbnails.
