When using kde connect on Kubuntu 24.04, I had no issues. However, after doing a fresh install of 25.04, I have one problem I can’t seem to fix. When sending a file from my android phone to the PC, it works fine, but when I try to send a file from the PC to the android, it doesn’t show up for some reason and it doesn’t give an error message or anything. It doesn’t do anything. I’ve tried setting a custom folder location to send files to and it still doesn’t work. The only way I can send files to the android is open Dolphin file manager and copy the file from my PC into the phone storage. Anyone know what might be causing this problem?
KDE Connect: 24.12.3
Ubuntu 25.04 (Wayland)
KDE Frameworks: 6.12.0
Qt: Using 6.8.3 and built against 6.8.3
Build ABI: x86_64-little_endian-lp64
Kernel: linux 6.14.0-29-generic
Hi, I’m having exactly the same issue as you on Arch Linux. I’ve tried it on both my phone and iPad, and the problem persists. All other features work fine—it’s just that my computer can’t send files to other devices. The only workaround is to open the directory through Dolphin. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to figure it out but still haven’t found a solution. Have you managed to resolve the issue?
No, I haven’t. I’ve been doing the same thing as you, adding files to my phone through dolphin. Although it’s not really that complicated to do, it’s just more annoying than anything. I’d fill out a bug report but don’t really understand all of that so hopefully someone else does. Update this if you figure out how to fix it and I’ll do the same. I’m using Kubuntu 25.04 btw. Maybe it’s got something to do with Wayland, not sure. It worked fine under Kubuntu 24.04 which didn’t use Wayland
