Issue with minimize, maximize and close buttons (GTK apps) on KDE Plasma 5.27.5

Hello and thanks for reading me :grinning:, I have this issue with all GTK Apps

Default GTK
as you see the minimize, maximize buttons are blurry, and also the circle when you hover it looks incomplete (example screen capture using Thunderbird with Breeze theme)

Unlike with KDE apps

My screen resolution is 1366x768 global scale 100%

I’m using:
Debian 12 “bookworm”
KDE Plasma: 5.27.5
KDE Frameworks: 5.103.0
QT Version: 5.15.8
X11

I also noticed this, however it’s likely not something to solve on your system.
You can create a bug report on Log in to KDE Bugtracking System

update breeze-gtk to 5.27.6

fusionfuture, thanks for the reply!! how to update to such version??? I have Debian 12 and in Synaptic appears as last version 5.27.5-2

I could fix it by booting a KDE Neon from a pendrive, and extract the contents of
/usr/share/themes/Breeze/
/usr/share/themes/Breeze-Dark/

And replacing these versions on my Debian KDE

and now it looks nice and correct

Thank you all for the support

I would like to propose a better solution: build breeze-gtk-theme from source.

  • Clone this repo Plasma / Breeze for GTK · GitLab
  • Unpack and go to src folder
  • Edit build_theme.sh.cmake, replace @Python3_EXECUTABLE@ with python
  • Execute build_theme.sh.cmake, the theme will install for your current user
  • Logout or restart then choose theme Breeze- from settings
