Issues with Plasma Styles, start menu looks bad

Hi to everyone I’m having issues since I transform my kubuntu 22.04 legacy boot to UEFI. Can anyone help me?

Hi - by “looks bad”, are you referring primarily to the spacing of items in the menu? (Size of the top bar, spacing of the Sleep/Restart/Shut Down icons)

Can you paste in the “About this System” information from the Info Center application?

What Plasma Style do you have selected in the System Settings app > Appearance & Style > Colors & Themes > Plasma Style? Does the spacing of the menu change if you select a different Plasma Style (ex. Breeze or Breeze Light instead of Breeze Dark)?

Hi John thank for your answer, I will past information asked

If I select differnet Plasma Style I get the same issue

Um…is it just me or…That entire system settings plasma page is, aside from a few icons, nearly empty. And , 22.04? That’s pretty old stuff.

@dzon The other screenshot posted is from the Info Center app, as opposed to System Settings

@Matias_Bertolotti I wonder if what you’re experiencing is somehow related to 455410 – Kickoff now opens at unexpected positions with giant icons and spacing to where checking for something unexpected being in ~/.local/share/plasma/plasmoids/ might help?

Another thing to try would be to create a new user, and see if the issue persists when logging in as that new user. If the issue remains, then some system package is the issue. If the issue disappears for the new user, then something in the configuration files for your specific user has gotten thrown off along the way.

And, to the point about 22.04, you may have better luck checking with Kubuntu-specific folks on this one as 5.24.7 is a 2+ year old version of KDE Plasma that is no longer in active development / bug-fix work by KDE developers. Upgrading to a newer Linux distribution release with a newer version of Plasma would likely provide a significantly better experience in several ways.

I was looking on that path but y find out seagull y tried to restart plasma and received a lot of errors
~/.local/share/plasma/desktoplasma/seagull/
