Hi
I have created a new torrent with no tracker (not private, tried both DHT only checked/unchecked).
Then I have loaded this torrent to two other torrent clients (transmission and qbittorrent) on my machine and to one client on external (from my LAN point of view) computer and they were unable to start downloading (left it for several hours with no effect).
However when I manually add peer in ktorrent pointing to one of other clients all other clients immediately begin downloading.
I also did another experiment: I created a torrent with transmission client and started seeding. Then I loaded it to all other clients (including ktorrent).
In such case all mentioned clients except for ktorrent discovered it with no issue and began downloading.
So it seems that ktorrent client doesn’t like to fetch and share DHT info.
I have DHT enabled in ktorrent. Also I have enabled port forwarding. I have public IP. I am sure ports are properly forwarded.
I see no configuration option which could alter this behavior (and when I was not sure I’ve checked all possible combinations).
Is this a bug or have I missed something subtle?
