It seems the most recent Android 14 update has caused KDE Connect to completely crash

Over on the KDE community on Reddit I’m seeing lots of people saying KDE Connect isn’t working for them.

Yeah it seems the most recent Android 14 update is causing problems with KDE Connect for many people. Are the KDE developers aware of this?

They’re not only aware, they’ve issued a fix. Have a scroll through this topic:

I had same issue. I downgrade to 1.32.2.
Uninstall it and go on F-Droid, search for KDE Connect, you will get 1.32.2… install it. It fix my issue.

I downgraded to 1.32.0 beta as a temporary fix. Version 1.32.4 from Play Store is crashing when try to connect to my PC with Kubuntu 24.04

still not google play.

No, it will take a few days

Sound like kde bug 493796 (cannot post links, sorry).

Somebody found workaround described in r/kde: disconnect wifi, disable remote keypress plugin for all paired devices, connect again.

Solved by entering aeroplane mode, starting the KDE Connect-app on the mobile and disabling “Receive remote keypresses” under Devices/computer name/three dots in the upper right/Plugin settings/Receive remote keypresses.
