It would be very convenient if Krusader, when in regular user mode, asked for root credentials when attempting a root task, instead of having to open Root Mode Krusader to do it.
For example, if I am using Krusader in regular user mode and I want to rename a root-owned file, I currently have to open Root Mode Krusader, find the directory and file again, then rename the file.
Instead, it would be much more facile if user-mode Krusader simply asked me for the root (or file owner’s) password (or the password that sudo is configured to use, if sudo is used for this).
In case this is implemented, I request that sudo be used instead of KDE su-to-root, ask that doesn’t work on my system. It says the password is wrong, no matter what I enter.
Hi - for what it’s worth, there is an open request for this feature in the KDE Bugtracking System: 324254 – Option "Copy with root privileges" to file copy dialog
This looks like something that will just require someone with the time, ability and interest to jump in and figure out how to implement
