K3b depends on obscure transcode utility

The transcode utility is listed as being used for xvid, lame, ac3.
However, it is quite difficult to acquire this utility.
The homepage https://transcoding.org/ is a spam blog.
The repository https://bitbucket.org/france/transcode-tcforge/ is gone.

The only mirror of its source code is provided by LFS: https://anduin.linuxfromscratch.org/BLFS/transcode/transcode-1.1.7.tar.bz2 (and cache.nixos.org, indirectly)

I think it would be best to replace its usage with ffmpeg, which would also give us a lot more options for audio formats.

Hi - just to check, how do you have K3b installed? From what I can see, transcode was deprecated in the source code over a year ago, so all versions since 24.02 look like they should have reflected that?

Implementing ffmpeg in its place is still an open topic, it would seem: 274668 – Please move away from transcode, as the project is dead.

I still use version 23.08, but I will upgrade in a few days with the next NixOS release.
