Kaddressbook does not load my selfhosted Carddav OR vcard files

Hiya, new KDE user here.
I’m hosting my contacts on VPS Baikal Carddav server to sync between devices. I just installed kaddressbook and when I goto
Add Addressbook - > Dav groupware resource → enter my credentials → configure the resource manually

I end up on the Resource Configuration dialog.
Give it a name and click “Add”
Select CardDAV
Enter Remote URL “https[colonslashslash]carddav[.]domain[.]com/carddav/dav.php/”
Click “Fetch”

I get one Discovered Collection, “Contacts” @ URL. So far so good.
Click OK
I see one Server Configuration
Protocol “CardDAV”
URL “https[colonslashslash]carddav[.]domain[.]com/carddav/dav.php/”
Click OK.

nothing. it just disappears and there’s no address book.
I have tried all kinds of different configurations to no avail.
Can only figure I am missing a dependancy for Cal/CardDAV stuff?

Suggestions?

edit:
Evolution finds the CardDAV server correctly and loads them.
I exported them all as a .vcf and tried importing them into kaddressbook.
Same result. Select the file, give it a name, click ok…
Dialog disappears, no address book.

It does not work for me either (Debian testing, kaddressbook version 6.3.0 24.12.0). I can connect to a server and fetch the collection URL, but no contacts there. Using google.com as a carddav service (Dav groupware resource) provider.

Running into the same issue on Debian Testing. It did work in the past for me (can’t remember if it was Testing or Stable tho)
