So, I am trying to setup kaidan instead of dino for chatting over xmpp with someone, but I cannot enable encryption. I see a verify qr code something, but I am totally lost. It just works in dino, but I want to use kaidan because I use kde and it integrates well into my system. I cannot find an answer online.

So, I guess this is my issue:
So, you cannot encrypt chat with anyone else unless they use kaidan too? Why do you not support older omemo for compatibility with literally the rest of the world? I really just do not understand this. Is there some way for me to rebuild this app with compatibility with other clients? Would this be extremely difficult to do? I don’t mind compiling the app if I have to.
