With option “On login, launch apps that were open” set to “On last logout”,
I close all my apps then logout, after relogin I always get Kate and Dolphin auto started.I’m missing something?

Plus, setting “On login, launch apps that were open” to “When session was manually saved”,
If I click on “Save Session” in Kickoff, all of the Shutdown, Restart, Logout buttons become broken in Kickoff. And I should use terminal to shutdown my laptop or press power button for some seconds to force the shutdown.
Not sure if this is still a thing in Plasma 6, but in the past, when this would happen, often switching to start with an empty session temporarily for one login or so would fix this.
I’m getting similar behavior, but for me it’s discover.
I did it but without success, I even emptied ~/.config/session folder
, I don’t know where does Plasma saves its previous state.
I’m sure there is something from previous config files that’s not compatible with the new session restoration. This problem of compatibility was the major source of many bugs during the upgrade operation from Plasma 5 to 6.
And truthfully, I’m exhausted from creating a new user and reconfigure my whole apps after each upgrade.
~/.cache
is safe to clear out if you are having issues.
perhaps something in there is wrapping things around the axial.
~/.config/ksmserverrc iirc
After testing Plasma 6.1.0/6.1.1 and playing with session restore settings on multiple laptops, I’m sure that the new fake restore session is not working at all, or it’s misconfigured somewhere else.
For me everything restarts, save for Discover, and Qbittorrent, after a reboot this morning.
Chrome starts, which for me didn’t happen previously. They don’t open on the same monitor, mind you, at least System Settings and Dolphin didn’t.
I don’t think the ksmserverrc is where the info is kept. Mine didn’t change.
