Kate/KWrite fixed position of find/search/replace bars and impact on accessibility

Kate and KWrite have bars for finding/replacing text at the bottom of their windows, similar to the interface design in Firefox, and it doesn’t appear that these can be moved.

Like a lot of people I have back/neck injuries, which makes using a laptop without a monitor for any length of time painful and that extends to needing panels at the top of the screen to avoid constantly looking down and tensing. An occasional quick glance at a status bar isn’t as much of a problem as looking at and reading from a position that’s about 30cm lower on a 24" monitor than the top of the screen.

Fortunately Kate also has the more advanced search tool view, which can be repositioned so that it’s not at the bottom, so I change the keyboard shortcuts and use that instead. It’s a shame it apparently can’t be undocked and used as a floating window like in other editors, but it works.

Am I missing something in the config for the Kate and KWrite bars, or could these possibly at least have the option to move them to the top?
