Has anybody experienced following issue with Kate editor on Wayland? I start kate from Application Launcher with new Untitled document being open automatically. I see no cursor and when I type hello nothing happens. When I switch to a different Virtual Desktop and back I see hello but when I type world I see no world being typed unless I switch to a different Virtual Desktop and back again.
Not that Kate on X11 works just fine.
I cannot reproduce. Can you check if this issue also happens with a newly created user?
It does work when I launch kate from krunner as well as newly created user. The odd thing is that now when I logged out and in again it seems to be working when launching from Application Launcher as well.
It sounds like display buffering - the window content doesn’t update until you switch to something else.
I’ve had that happen to me, on and off, with Firefox on Wayland, but never with native KDE apps, and not recently.
What version of KDE are you using?
