Kate: sorting of unicode text

Hi!

I just realized that if I try to sort unicode text in kate (Tools → Scripts → Editing → Sort Selected Text Alphabetically), the selection order is different that when I use the sort command in the same file.

For example the following lines containing Greek polytonic characters

Ἄ
Ἁ
Β
Α

are sorted in kate as

Α
Β
Ἁ
Ἄ

and with sort command as

Α
Ἄ
Ἁ
Β

Seems like the accents and diacritics are handled differently. Is this by design? Or this is a bug?

You need to use natsort or Sort Text Naturally for the expected output.

Actually I would prefer it like the sort command does it. ie: ignore the diacritics.
