i managed to install kde connect and kde connect sms. Major win for me!!! However… I do remember it asking me for permission to access my contacts, and responding yes. Nevertheless, all my texts are showing up as coming from the number, not the person. As of yet, i have not been able to find any setting that is incorrect or to change on either phone or desktop. Clarification: i managed to install kde connect and kde connect sms on my desktop. Major win for me!!! On my phone, I could only find kde connect, and did set the permissions to allow access to my contacts. But… Google play store does not have a kde sms or kde connect sms. when I do a search for this, only kde connect comes up. When I run the kde connect sms software app on my desktop, it runs and does connect to my android. However, it does not seem to have permission to access my contacts. all my texts are showing up as coming from the number, not the person.
