Hi Developers,
I’m reaching out regarding an issue I’ve encountered with file permissions in KDE Connect after updating my Android device to version 14.
Here’s the situation:
I’ve exposed the entire phone filesystem in KDE Connect and mounted the folder on my computer.
Previously, I was able to edit files in the exposed folder without any issues.
However, after the Android 14 update, I’m no longer able to edit files due to permission restrictions.
This change seems to be tied to the recent Android update, as the problem didn’t exist before. Could you please provide guidance or a solution to resolve this issue?
Thank you in advance for your support!
Best regards,
MSP
Hi! I’m not an Android user, but for what it’s worth the information on the bug reports linked below might be relevant or helpful?
Hi @johnandmegh ,
Thanks a lot for your reply.
Even after mounting the entire file system, while trying to edit any files in the mounted file system on my computer, I get file permission issue.
For example, for a .ods file, I get the below error while saving:
And, while editing and saving a pdf file, I get an error that the file could not be edited.
For older Android/KDE Connect versions, the editing of files in the mounted file system was working fine.
This is the solution I am trying to seek.
Thanks,
MSP.
