So like, you can use an Xbox Controller on PC A, to control a game on PC B?

Or like, what do you mean?

I think his idea is phone as game pad connected to Linux by kdeconnect.

Good idea!

Radek

Yes. If not have real gamepad use kde-connect for emulation without other software. “From the box”.

Interesting idea. I suppose that could be useful.

I would say maybe better than nothing, but serialization delay from phone touch events, to kdeconnect on android, to network (crappy wifi anyone?), to kdeconnect on desktop, so dbus or whatever input method would probably make it frustrating to use for any sort of real twitch gaming. Better off buying even a used 8bitdo bluetooth on ebay or whatever locally.

I don’t agree that use LAN can cause a perceptible delay…

This made me wonder if Valve maybe already did something like that. I have not tried it, but the answer seems to be yes! From Steam Community :: Guide :: Steam Link Touch Controller Guide - A Visual Introduction

Can I use my mobile device as simply an additional controller when using Steam Link? I do not need to stream video or audio to it.
Yes. At the main menu in Steam Link, go to Settings (cog icon at upper-right corner) → Streaming → next to Video and Audio, press the arrow buttons until the texts say Disabled.
