KDE Connect peculiarity in XFCE

This may be well known, but it kept me busy for a few days, so what I have to report here may be of help to someone.

I recently got an Android 14 phone on which I installed KDE Connect 1.32.5 (the one that fixes the KDE Connect crash under Android 14). I paired this successfully against KDE Connect 21.12.1 running on my Slackware 15.0 XFCE 4.16 desktop.

Everything seemed to run fine until I noticed the following: when notifications appear in my XFCE desktop (e.g. because an email arrives) the Activate button that is part of such notifications would not work - clicking on it would do nothing. However, this would only happen when my phone was connected to the KDE Connect daemon in my desktop.

After tweaking numerous settings both on my phone and on my desktop I finally traced it to the Send notifications plugin in the configuration for my phone in my desktop’s KDE Connection: when this plugin is enabled, the behavior described above ensues.

I do not know why that is the case; if somebody in this forum has any insights to explain this behavior their feedback would be much appreciated.
