KDE desktop manager slow down windowing and videos

Hi,

My desktop manager is KDE and I would to know if there are any way to speed up the display and window management.
I run xorg on terminal computer and kde is running on remote server launched by XDM daemon.
With this configuration, when I run VLC it miss some images. Also, Window is delayed when I resize.
But if I run VLC with console command line without kde , images are fluent.
I checked by iostat and htop the cpu load (both xorg terminal side and server ) and disk access then there are no overloading at all. Memory is big enough on both side.
I think that KDE desktop manager slowdown the display when it is used remotely through network.
The system is slackware 15 with Plasma 5.23.5.
Are there special fine tunning to solve the problems ?

Thanks

Hi! Does the overall desktop, including other applications, also feel sluggish? Have you tried other methods of remotely accessing that device?

Just as forewarning, I don’t believe that many folks will be running Plasma 5.23.5, as that version of Plasma has been out of support from KDE developers for almost three years now. It’s possible that there are issues impacting remote access speed that might only exist in Slackware now, if that’s the latest version of Plasma that it provides.

I solved the problem.
To gain in fluidity of video and windows, disable (or modify options) parameter in the main KDE settings panel : Display and monitor > Compositor > Enable compositor on startup
