Hello everyone,
I’m having trouble using my KDE Kontact suite. When I want to see the content of an email, I do not see any text, only weird structures. However, I mark the email and copy the text to another program, that works. So I think it has to do something with the dark mode of KDE.
I’m using Kontact Version 6.3.3 (24.12.3) with KDE 6.3.4 on openSUSE Tumbleweed. Is this a bug? I mean, some days ago, it worked.
Thank you for your help.
hihu
You have Qt 6.9 ?
To inform your KDE it is best to copy the output of this command: kinfo
Your screenshot is a lot similar with the bug in Qt 6.9 in this thread:
Edit:
It’s a Qt 6.9.0 bug. Explanation and workaround here .
Something weird has happened in my Plasma set up: some panes in windows that render text (panes where you can edit text are NOT affected) behave bizarrely, not displaying the text they are supposed to render, and instead displaying glitches—see below. This affects both X11 and Wayland and I have seen this behaviour in KMail, Ghostwriter and Falkon so far.
Here are some photos and screenshots of the issue:

Yes. That bug did affect the KMail app Kontact.
Let me guess @fhihu : You are using X11 and you have an AMD GPU, correct?

So the bug is already known. So I guess I don’t have to do anything, just waiting for a fix. Or should I provide more details?

Yes. The bug was opened and marked as Critical:
