See this Issue installing KDE Linix
Thanks! That works.
How is KDE Linux going to differ from KDE Neon?
Thanks, i just read through that ![]()
Following instructions: âRight-click on the downloaded .raw file on your computer, choose Properties, and then click on the Checksums tabâ
In Properties thereâs no Checksum tab, only tabs are:
Basic, Permissions, Open With and Emblems.
Iâm using Linux Mint 22.3 Cinnamon.
This option is available on Dolphinâs file manager, which is the standard file manager shipped with KDE.
As you are using Cinnamon, I assume you are using the file manager shipped with it, which might have a different UI and available options.
Youâll need to use a different method to checksum your download, either by using the CLI or by using a different GUI application. There are Flatpak apps that do those checks.
thanks for clarifying; I checked via CLI now.
ok, the checksum was good, but now I get an error with the ISO Image Writer:
The last block was not fully written (-1 of1.048.576 bytes)!
Aborting
You need to use a modern version of ISOImageWriter. The one youâve got is 4 years old. Iâd recommend the Flatpak version.
Bu this was done with the Flatpack version.
It says itâs 26.04.0
I took a look at the reviews of this Flatpack; 2 reviewers said itâs not working, but another one said it only works if you first format the stick to ext4.
And indeed, itâs creating now ![]()
Huh, thatâs unusual. Iâve used the Flatpak version to do this for a USB flash drive previously formatted FAT32.
This could be a bug in ISOImageWriter. Could you open a bug report for it at https://bugs.kde.org?
Thanks!
Bug was reported.
The fix worked good, so now ready to try the KDELinux ![]()
