KDE Neon fresh install - VPN software installs but will not launch

Hi all, new to the forum and looking for some words of wisdom and guidance.

Did an upgrade to the latest 6.2 neon, all seemed to go well except my VPN would not launch (I use Mullvad vpn).

I tried running a live session from a usb and vpn software installed and launched perfectly ( it’s installed from a .deb file)
Decided it must be a problem with the upgrade process so i did a fresh install, which appeared to go smoothly, and re-installed all my software … everything worked well except the VPN software again failed to launch.

Did a second live session and it worked again and then a second clean install to a secondary spare disk where it again failed to launch.
Not to sure to go from this point.

Anyone had similar issues or can point a novice in the right direction???

thanks …Craig

From Mullvad support:

Use the following two commands to enable the AppArmor profiles for Mullvad:

sudo cp /opt/Mullvad\ VPN/resources/apparmor_mullvad /etc/apparmor.d/mullvad

sudo apparmor_parser -r /etc/apparmor.d/mullvad

Hope this helps.

Yes it did.
I reached out to Mullvad support on the problem, there were a couple of initial workarounds before they came up with the two commands you posted.
After running these two commands everything was back to working perfectly.
Must give a big shout out to Stefan @Mullvad support who gave excellent support in a manner that even I could implement.
