As a new KDE Plasma user, I was really impressed by the customizable and powerful nature of this desktop environment. However, there were some shortcomings that I noticed during this experience and thought should be addressed. With this feedback, I would like to suggest user-oriented improvements that will take KDE Plasma even further.
First of all, the size of the taskbar icons caught my attention. The current panel configuration only allows adjusting the panel height, while the small icon sizes create a gap in terms of aesthetics. In my opinion, the icon size setting should be added as a new customization to the panel configuration. This will allow users to shape their desktops in more detail according to their personal preferences. Similarly, it would be great to have the same option for application launcher icons, and it would be a big plus if the icons here can be enlarged or reduced to certain proportions.
Another important point is the login screen, or lock screen customizations. I think the background image on the login screen should be optionally changed. For this, a lock screen settings section can be added and various visuals such as desktop images can be easily added. Also, adding weather information to the login screen under the time and date section will also enrich the user experience. In this lock screen settings section, certain and necessary widgets that can be added here and similar customization and editing options can be provided.
