Hi all. I’ve been dealing with a pretty annoying issue in KDE Plasma. I am on Arch Linux using plasmashell version 6.1.3. Looking at the journalctl logs, what appears to be happening is some error occurs in powerdevil (i.e. dh=Display_Handle[i2c-7: fd=37], Keeping adjusted sleep multiplier 1.00 for SE_POST_WRITE or SE_POST_SAVE_SETTINGS
), which causes the screen to go black for a few seconds, during which a lot of programs output a qt.qpa.wayland: Creating a fake screen in order for Qt not to crash
message. I’ll include a screenshot of the journalctl logs from when this happens:
Every block of those “fake screen” messages are when the screen blackout occurs. They can happen either within a few minutes of each other, or there can be a 10-15 minute gap before the next one occurs. I’ve not been able to find a fix for this online, so if anyone can help with this that’d be greatly appreciated.
