ctrl+alt+F2 for a tty where you can login and type
reboot into the command line
or just hard reset the power.
chances are pretty good when it comes back up you will still be missing a taskbar tho.
mine gets lost whenever i run phoronics test suite and i have to use timeshift to get it back
