KDE Plasma Update breaks useability

After Fedora 44 updated my desktop dead keys stopped working. Was this function removed

Fixed by fix: improve reliability of dead key and compose key handling with the overlays (!126) · Merge requests · Plasma / Plasma Keyboard · GitLab . Noted as fixed in 6.7.0 but actually didn’t make it through before release (noted as 6.7.1 in the last “This Week in Plasma” blog post).

Before then, the workaround is disabling the feature of holding keys for accents or Plasma Keyboard altogether. See:

I updated to Plasma 6.7 and it seems I’ve “unlocked” the feature where holding a key gives a popup to select accents. As someone who speaks English only though, I find this annoying and it is intrusive when I hold a key for a little too long. My problem is, I can’t find the setting to disable this! Where is the setting so I can get rid of this feature?

If something works (IBUS Wayland) don’t try to fix it.

If this is really experimental (that’s ok, FOSS is experimental by definition) I fail to see why it is pushed in the face of the casual user)
