I am thinking of building a widget that fetches only notifications. we could have an icon in the system tray to show recent notifications. Pop ups for new notifications etc.
does this exist and I am not aware of it?

No i mean a dedicated widget just for only github notifications, with UI like

The software could potentially do both.
Like an email program that can use system notifications but will still show the full list of (unread) emails in its own window.

There is a widget that did this for Plasma 5 GitHub - Zren/plasma-applet-githubissues but hasn’t been updated in years.
Maybe you can revive it or use it as base/inspiration to make your own.
Would be nice to have a notifier that you manually add only the issue ticket url’s that you’re keeping track of instead of all tickets for a GitHub project.
