KDE widgets black foreground text

After upgrading to KDE 6.5.3-1.fc43, the foreground text color of my widgets in my task bar are black until i either hover over them or they are updated (e.g. temperature).

this is theme related, is my guess.

go to global themes and reset breeze back to its defaults to see if that cures it.

unfortunately that does not seem to do the trick - also switching to a new theme (default) keeps the foreground color black.

switch from breeze dark to fedora > log out > log in
