Since 4 Sep, KDE Connect SMS crashes at startup:
QThreadStorage: Thread 0x5d0ae96650f0 exited after QThreadStorage 8 destroyed
QThreadStorage: Thread 0x5d0ae96650f0 exited after QThreadStorage 3 destroyed
QThreadStorage: Thread 0x5d0ae96650f0 exited after QThreadStorage 2 destroyed
I noticed that my phone (running GrapheneOS) had a system update recently, but I’m not aware of which component might have had an impact on KDE Connect.
KDE Connect works fine, my phone shows as “trusted and connected”.
I’ve read about QT, but am not clear on which exact component it is and how to get logs, version, etc.
I’ve also read about opening ports, but am also unclear on where these ports should be opened.
This topic doesn’t seem updated anymore ( KDE Connect SMS crashes on start ) and this one is IMHO different (Ubuntu 24.10: kdeconnect-sms crashes on start )
Can you please help me pinpoint and resolve the issue?
Thank you!

It should also be noted that sending SMS via the CLI works, so I really suspect there is a bug in the kdeconnect-sms GUI. I’ll submit a KDE bug report

Please report crashes to https://bugs.kde.org , so the developers can see if there are similar reports and diagnose why it crashed. There is a great guide at Guidelines and HOWTOs/Debugging/How to create useful crash reports - KDE Community Wiki on how to include as much information as possible.
