When are we going to fix this?

Hello @vkdesign and welcome to the forum

Thank you for reporting the crash.

I can reproduce the crash on Win10 and added a crash log in the Bugtracker .

When starting version portable 26.04.2 of Windows, the application throws the error “libcrypto-3-x64.dll is not designed to run on Windows or contains an error,” shows it 3 or 4 times on the screen, and closes the application.

I tested the standalone 26.04.2 on Win10 before uploading and had no crash. Do you have installed the latest Win10 updates? If not, that could be the issue.

My S.O. is Windows 11 pro Version 25H2, Version S.O. 26200.8524 (KB5089573) 26/05/2026 installed.

KDEnlive 26.04.1 is O.K.

Version 26.4.2 already works.

What was causing the error was the damn ‘Smart App Control.’

Solution: I disabled it, launched KDEnlive, closed KDEnlive, and re-enabled the damn ‘Smart App Control.’

Apparently, security of Windows 11 Pro is very restrictive with KDEnlive’s ‘dlls’.

I had this same problem with the previous version too, but I didn’t remember it until now.

I will investigate a more definitive solution for this problem

I have consulted the problem with Copilot and the solution is to permanently disable the intelligent operations control or to perform the process I have done for each new version.

I try run in Win10… and it cannot run - instant crash, whether the install or standalone version. Just freezing after I click New project or choose any previous templates.

Also, can’t find any equal to ‘Smart App Control’ here in Win10 (version 22H2 OS Build 19045.7417)

Hi @set_chung and welcome to the forum.
Do you have all and latest Win10 updates installed?

is there a way for motion blur ?

There is no effect/filter available for motion blur. Other users have managed to simulate it with a keyframed Directional Blur effect.

Is it effective?

It depends on what your expectation is and what compromises you are ready to make. Just try it out for yourself. There are tutorials on YT (nuxttux has a good series of them), and also the KDE Store has effect presets for that.
