Kdenlive AppImage on Kubuntu 24.04

Hi!

I have recently made the jump from Kubuntu 22.04 to 24.04 and have been experiencing some weird issues with Kdenlive AppImage.

Here are some screenshots taken from my 24.04 installation:

Full App:

Clip Stabilization Dialog Window:

The dialog window for Clip stabilization options is 23365 pixels wide and the numeric characters on some fields look different than text characters.
It’s also acting weird when switching layouts, the main window sometimes gets huge like the dialog window in the screenshot and gets out of the screen.

I also tested the same AppImage on VirtualBox with different fresh live sessions.

Looks ok on:
Kubuntu 22.04.5
Lubuntu 24.04.1

Looks bad on:
Kubuntu 24.10

Seems weird to me that it looks fine on Lubuntu 24.04 but not on Kubuntu 24.04. Anyone knows what could be the cause or if I can change any theme settings to fix it?

This is definitely something for the dev to look into, so I suggest you create a bug report.

I suspect this is caused by a change in the Qt libraries in the latest release of Ubuntu (although this doesn’t explain why under Lubuntu Kdenlive renders ok). Kdenlive uses the Qt framework for the GUI.

I also tried the Flatpak and works just fine on my system, so I can continue to use it for now.
