I tried two Fedora 41 installations, on two separate computers, and on both, Kdenlive is unable to stabilize a larger sized 4K clip without crashing with the default settings.
It was able to stabilze a 500MB clip, but any 2GB+ clip crashes. I think it has to do with the amount of time it takes.
During the stabilization, Kdenlive freezes and ramps up to 100% CPU usage, and then crashes.
It seems to have something to do with the progress polling.
The melt-7 process remains even after kdenlive crashes and finishes stabilizing.
I have enough RAM, and I added a huge amount of swap just in case also. I’ve had this problem in Ubuntu before as well, but it was randomly happening. On Fedora it happens every time with bigger clips.
Here is the backtrace from the core. Anything I can try to fix it, or is it likely a bug? Seems like an issue in QT6.
