Kdenlive feature request/ bug? - Save File feedback.

Wanted to open a git issue first but apparently that’s for devs only; Please tell me its a user issue or im going crazy or something.
Just started using kdenlive on windows today, running version 25.08.3

I’m not sure im doing something wrong, but after saving my project once (which naturally pops up a window asking where to save the new file), any other actions that save the project (pressing Ctrl+S, or clicking file → save) has exactly ZERO user feedback.

I mean, it saves the file just fine, but the user doesn’t know that. Did They actually press Ctrl+S? is their keyboard dead? did they fatfinger a different key while trying to save?

The expected behaviour coming from any other software would be for the status bar to briefly show a confirmation such as “File saved successfully: %path%/Name.kdenlive”

I’m not sure if its broken somehow or if its actually not an implemented feature yet. very confusing.

Hello @breezyw and welcome to the forum.

On top left, next to the filename is an asterisk * when the project has unsaved changes. Once the project is saved the asterisk disappears.

Curses, so it was a user issue. I guess thats what happens when you edit past midnight. Still Maybe consider having a more clear UX feedback if it’s possible to implement. thanks anyway.
