After looking at reviews, I would like to learn Kdenlive. I have a Mac mini M1 running OS Ventura 13.7.6, the latest update.
Kdenlive crashes on opening. I went into the archives and tried a few older versions, and every one does the same, including the 24.12.1 suggested in another post.
I uninstall each version before trying a new one, restart, run Clean My Mac. Is there a good solution? Or do I need to use Shotcut or OpenShot instead? Thanks!

It seems this happens when you change the directory of Kdenlive from Programs to MyApps. When you store Kdenlive in Programs Kdenlive should start without a problem.
Thanks, @Eugen_Mohr, but I’m confused. I don’t have a Programs file anywhere.
• I have an Applications folder that belongs to the computer, where apps are stored by defaul.
• And I have a separate Applications folder that is under me as a user.
I don’t keep apps in my personal Applications folder, only in the main default Applications folder. Kdenlive was installed into the latter, default location for apps.
I sure would like to explore Kdenlive. If you can clarify or try another solution, I would be grateful. Thank you much!
Good news! I ran all the Performance fixes on Clean My Mac and gave it another attempt. Downloaded and installed the latest version again, and it started and is running. Seems it was a computer issue.
