Hello,
I am new to kdenlive and generally to videoediting.
I have downloaded the snap new versione, but as like as I try to save, the program suddenly crashes. I have already tried to reinstall it a couple of time.
I have tried the debian version: it works, but some important feature are missing: recording video and audio from my computer and the recording the screen (it records only a black screen). Recordings works in my computer with other programs.
Can anybody help me?
Snaps are not officially supported by Kdenlive and Debian packaging is not reliable since they ship older versions. We provide an AppImage version from our website or Flatpak from flathub, try those.
Thank you for the answer. I have download Flatpak version (and Flatpak as well), but is seemed to be the same version I had before. However something has changed: the audio recording works, the screen recorder still doesn’t, but it give a new message. I write it down here, because I don’t understand anything… Hope somebody can help me decipher it

Are you on Wayland? Maybe that could be the issue. I suggest to also test the appimage and let us know.
I’ve tried both repo, appimg and flatpak on debian. No prob. Works just fine. In X that is, not wayland.
There are some limitations on Wayland.
I have downloaded the appimage, it asks a password, I don’t know what to type
The appimage doesn’t need a password unless your OS/distro needs one if you try to run a program with elevated rights. In that case it is your user or the admin password.
I’m on Pop!_OS 22.04, and the appimage works just fine w/o asking for a password …
