Kdenlive videos are too short on export

Just as the title says, when I export a video in Kdenlive the output video is too short.

In Kdenlive I made sure to set in- and out markers with I and O. I also made sure to choose “Render selected zone” on export.

Having done that the exported video is still too short. The longer the video is, the more seconds are missing at the end. I tested this with two videos.

Is there something I’m doing wrong or forgot to enable/disable in the settings?

What version/build/platform are you seeing this with?

I’m on Arch Linux v6.15.5 with up to date packages.
Kdenlive v25.04.3-1. 64 Bit AMD CPU architecture.

I have seen the same, but “fixed” it by dragging the right side of the part of the video which I want to expert to the end and all is well.

Try the Appimage

@Ron @DeMus After trying the AppImage version, the video exported normally with full length. After a little bit of investigating I found out that the root of issue seems to be the preset I used for video rendering.

The preset I was using was “H.264 (libx264+aac)” under the “Lossless/HQ” category.

After switching to the “MP4-H264/AAC” preset under the “Generic (HD for web, mobile devices…)” category, the issue was gone.

Thank you guys for your assistance!
