Hello, i’m trying to pass to kdenlive from hitfilm express but i encounter maby problem…
Today i see when i work many shorts, especially in audio but also with the video preview ..
Can i solve this ? I use last version
Do you mean a multicam view?
No, i speack about every action i do when i launch a preview… this preview is slow and shot continuosly…
If i include a saved MFT or template or a saved .kdenlive file, all is slow in preview.
I hope this could have a solution because in my case is not usable.
My PC use a Nvidia card
Ok, so your preview monitor playback of the timeline of your project is stuttering, has a low fps rate.
There are a few things you can do:
Other than that you can only invest in a much more powerful CPU. Kdenlive uses MLT to apply all filters and effects, transitions, and do all the compositing. MLT cannot use a GPU (yet), so the more powerful your CPU the faster MLT can do all to computations for playback.
The GPU is only used during encoding of your final video.
Thanks you very much for your help, this evening i Will fry all the suggested solution and i Will update you about result
Hello,
i just tryed your suggestion, but no-one work for me…
I set the Proxy clips and reduced monitor resolution of preview until 360p… but i continue to have shutter …
Ok if KDenlive not use graphic card during editing, but i have an I7 4th generation with 16 GB di ram and i think is not normal it shutter so much as in my case…
in my head i would use KDenlive for abandon HitFilm Express but in this mode is not usable…
… the thing make me doubt is using ShotCut i have no this problematic…
What are your sources? 4K or higher? Do you use effects, if so which ones? Some are really heavy on the CPU. How big is your project (1 minute, 10 minutes, 1 hour)?
What is your OS? 16GB RAM is enough for basic stuff but for serious video editing you really should have 32GB.
Hello,
The problem happen in a Little intro project about 20 seconds where i use only text and some Little animated background image in full HD with Keyframe animation …so Is not a heavy condition.
I work on Windows.
If you’ve got a complex effect stack with many keyframes, you might get better results if that is not visible and/or selected while you are previewing real-time playback in the timeline.
Updating the UI widgets in realtime as the cursor moves through all those keyframes can use a significant portion of your system resources, especially if they are also displaying bounding boxes and points in the monitor. I’ve seen that impact playback smoothness before, even on a relatively powerful machine.
Thank you Ron, but as Just sayed my case don’t present heavy situation… 20 seconds with Little amount of Keyframe animation on a text and an image… I don’t think It could be considered a heavy project…
I think the user of Memory have to be revisited because kdenlive Is the only program Who present this problem ON THE SAME PROJECT…i test the same image, text and Keyframe Number on different software and only kdenlive have problem…Is not expected from a professional software as kdenlive Is…
