Sounds like it could be a kernel bug. Did this computer formerly have another Linux distro installed on it? If so, I assume installation worked there? If so, which distro was it, and what kernel version did it use?
the installed version of Linux is Kubuntu. While upgrading to 25.10 i had to remove the kernel. At the moment it works whith the kernel 6.14.0-35-generic, the newer kernel gave a kernel panic
same problem when testing kde-linux
