The new input of accented letters is useful as I sometimes have to write in a different language, but it’s not consistent.
For example: here I press e and if I keep it the accents appears and if I choose ê it replaces the printed e, properly. But in Konsole instead it adds it to the other e , both in the command line and inside vim and you end up with eê.
Is it a problem with konsole or is there a setting somewhere to fix this?
you may have to resort to the old Compose Key method for terminal windows… i doubt the new virtual keyboard will work in xterm either, or any terminal windows (you should try it).
this should also be written up as a bug report at bugs.kde.org since is it easily reproducible.
We are actually expecting this feature to be disabled when a terminal is focused, as terminals have rather special behaviour.
We already have the configuration to do so, however Konsole doesn't set its Wayland hint to let us know it is a terminal
So it shouldn’t do that, it shouldn’t work at all. A pity, but understandable.
