Keyboard Default Settings Layout picks Position 2 as Default Instead of Position 1

After upgrading from 24.04 to 25.04 Kubuntu, I don’t get why upon login, my keyboard Layout defaults to #2 (Belgian), instead of #1 (English US). Any thoughts how I can fix it? It is a minor annoyance, in that I have to remember to switch it to US. It worked in Kubuntu 24.04.

KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.12.0
Qt Version: 6.8.3
Kernel Version: 6.14.0-32-generic (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
