I just installed KDE Neon on Acer Chromebook and I choose as keyboard model: “Google | Chromebook” how it’s different from generic keyboard? Should function keys works OOTB?
That layout is only for Chromebooks from 2019 and older. For whatever reason, the Linux keyboards devs haven’t or are unable to create a layout for newer Chromebooks.
You’ll need to use other methods to actually remap the keys to work.
keyd is probably the better choice, which is made a lot simpler to install and set up here.
