Running Plasma 5.27.5 x11 on Debian 12 Kernel 6.2.0-26-amd64 on VMWare Workstation 17.6.1 the Kicker start menu is missing text next to the icons or show a jumble of letters after I restore the VM. To fix the issue I need to log out and back in to get the text back. Is this a bug
Hi - It’s quite possible this was a bug in Plasma 5.27.5, but the Debian bug reporting process would be the best way to track that down.
Debian intentionally does not adopt upstream releases (Plasma 5.27.5 is over a year and a half old), which aside from not pulling in new features, also means they do not adopt upstream bug fixes. For that reason, bugs in their packaged versions of software often need to be addressed by the Debian team first, since they may need to be patched manually by their maintainers.
