Kile won't initialize (again)

Hello there,

I have the most common problem with Kile: the plain test doesn’t work.
I have a fresh EndeavourOS install, KDE Plasma on Wayland up-to-date, and since I like Kile (it works fine with another computer of mine) I tried to install it on this one.

I get the same error that I had at the beginning of my Kile experience:

I recall having the same problem at the beginning with my other PC, but somehow I managed to make it work (and only because I had the time to do it, and I had the will to use a KDE-community tool. I strongly believe that most of the people who would enjoy having a KDE-based LaTeX editor simply think the program is broken and switch the editor at the first opening).

It says that LaTeX is not correctly configured, but at the same time it says that it can be found in usr/bin/latex: I don’t really get the problem, here.

I can’t find any help on the Internet neither: there are several people that tried to ask for help (here on the Arch Forum), but I believe they simply changed editor.

Kile is such a lovely tool when it works, but I find its documentation so frustrating because it’s so incomplete. Can someone please help me with this?

I solved the problem by myself: after diving again into the requirements, I found out that there was a package called texlive-latex (from the Arch manual of TeX Live), that somehow looked essential for LaTeX. After I ran yay latex-live, everything (from PDFLaTeX to LaTeX itself) was correctly initialized. I don’t know why this package is not natively installed with Kile, but it would be good to do it since the beginning.

I remain available to give any relevant detail about this (apparently simple) procedure or about my configuration.
