Kio-Gdrive not working in various ways

When I first tried to use dolphin’s google drive integration, the google sign in window would appear and say I was in an unsupported browser or app - that was the help post I was planning to make.

Since then, the login window has mysteriously stopped showing up at all, and I have no idea why. If anyone has encountered this issue before and/or has a fix, please let me know!

If more information is necessary, of course just let me know and I will provide

I’m trying to get over this too and I’ve just had a feeling. What’s your system default browser?
I’ve been forced by my job to get Google Chrome, set it to default browser and the issue appeared at that point.
Maybe it’s not related, but I’ll give a try anyway and let Firefox as default browser.

Yes, it seems that chrome should be more suited to validate your account on Google, but I’m thinking about kio-gdrive being taylored for Firefox and raise unrelated text messages for this error condition.

I’ll try to keep you up to date.

Nah. It’s not about the default browser. I’ve tried to delete and create the “google on-line account”, and KDE is still having issues “this browser is not secure” when adding the account.
I’ve finally managed to add it by refreshing the dialog box -using the right button menu at the login prompt- but even after the account was added, Dolphin shows a “bad request” message, making kio-gdrive useless.

Kio-gdrive seems to be working on the Fedora 40 update with Plasma 6.1.2 KDE Gear 24.05.2.

Yes since the update kio-gdrive seems to work fine now.

Not at all. Just a “Bad request” error message while trying to open GDrive on Dolphin. White text over a half transparent red background.
And no way it’s gonna be fixed in the near future, Plasma has a growing amount of issues, each new one making it harder to use as a production environment, and it’s getting worse on every update.

It’s a shame because - I know, I’m aware and grateful - it’s an open source community project, but after seeing how all the Linux fanboys spread the message on their media networks (most of them blind and radically console devotees) about how Linux, GNU and open source are the only way, you end up working on a Windows 10 VirtualBox to get your job done.

In my humble opinion, there is only one kind of worst brainwashed computer user: the Apple fanboy; the most stupid type of human being -willing to give unjustifiable amounts of money to the company with the highest human exploitation rate and the pornographically highest prices for their garbage- who doesn’t use their apple devices to to nothing different than those from other companies. The kind of person who will sell your blood to wear a sticker.

Well, here is my monday rant about the current state of the computer civilization.

I think you are still using old KDE Gear Version, on Fedora 40 KDE Spin, it seems to work perfectly fine.

Hello. Can you please try it on a Debian based distro?

Yes it works on Debian 12. MX Linux too.
