Firstly, it needs mentioned a feature which was available in the previous release but not publicised – the scrollbars in Klassy may seem simple but had a lot of work put into making them work in a way which is unique on any platform – auto-appearing arrows, without any gaps or unnecessary arrows appearing when the scrolling is at the extremities.
6.2 features:
User-adjustable Application Style corner radii, by default derived from window decoration corner radius.
This is just so good mate, thank you!
With this addition, I finally can change everything in my UI/UX to work like I imagine it. And the feeling is AMAZING.
I feel like everything Paul McAuley and Luis Bocanegra do, should officially be part of KDE. KDE is amazing out of the box, but these two put the cherry on top.
I almost mentioned how much I was enjoying the scrollbars, in an unrelated conversation. I feel like I ought say it to you, now. That work you put in, it was worth it. We can feel the results of it over here
On that note, a funny story I will share with you: I’m in voice chat last night, hanging with friends, a few hours after installing this. I opened something to show them, and was struck by the scrollbars looking “right”, then clicked a button that I liked the shape of, and I just was so relieved that made this “ughhhh” sound.
Of course, I’m on voice chat and my friends are like “lol what the heck was that about?” so I had to explain to them that I was buzzed about corner radii. Being Aussie, the only appropriate reaction is for them to poke fun at me, for being such a massive nerd, so they did My response to them, and something I’d like other UI designers to consider:
Hey, I have to look at this all day. It’s the little things!
