After many twists and turns, I’m happy to announce the release of KleverNotes 1.2.0.
What’s New:
- New file structure that perfectly mirrors what you see in the sidebar. Ability to change the color and icon of each item.
- New drawing page with more features.
- “Copy” button in the code block.
- New bottom bar for switching between notes and tasks.
- Improved page turn animation.
Bug fixes, including but not limited to :
- Pressing V without a modifier while an image is in the clipboard does nothing (as expected).
- Preventing the use of a “/” to name an item, as it would create a directory.
- Various rendering issues.
This version is smaller than expected, but I think it was more than time to release it. Other (small) features will be added with version 1.3.0, and I hope to have time to develop them a little faster this time around.
I hope you will enjoy this version nonetheless.
As always, I’d love to hear from you!

Nice! I’ve been interested in trying this. The mirrored file structure is great, I really like to have my folders in order and for software to go from there, so to speak.
I know what you mean. I feel the same way, that’s why I changed it

Thanks a lot for the answers, another thing, why is there a discrepancy in the font size between editor and preview? I.e. to make those windows look (almost) the same editor needs to be 14px in the Settings, while preview a fake 20px, otherwise it looks too small in reality, like 8px or something.
For reference the size of these fonts in the forum is 16px.
Hey!
Yesterday, I thought about my workflow where I shifted from writing with a combination of rich and plain text and using notebook programs like KeepNote and CherryTree to writing fully in Markdown. For some time, I used ReText, but it only can open a file at a time but you have tabs, when there are multiple open. Since yesterday I moved over to your amazing program.
Let me start with what I like as positive feedback is always the best:
- Notebook files can still be accessed via file system
- Markdown cheatsheet
- Plug-ins
I found one quirk that is a bit annoying and it’s noway to keep the sidebar minimized after closing and reopening. It just be a me thing though. No other quirks or bugs that I noticed so far…
Before I close this message, I would like request a few features:
- Spell-check. Either via pop-up menu like in the desktop publishing programs or by right-clicking. Can be a plug-in or a togglable setting.
- Allowing multiple notes to be opened with either windowed or tabbed view. It would nice to give the user the choice between the options.
- Cheatsheet improvements. Mainly having a moveable window that can stay as reference, allowing copying of the code snippets, and/or a selection like how ReText has it (but as an option or a plug-in).
It’s a very, very promising program and keep up the great work!
Hello, thank you for your feedback !
I will soon be able to get back on development and will try to keep your comment in mind.
I can’t promise that I will add everything, but I generally like your ideas

Awesome! I would like to add two more things that came to mind. I thought it would be better this way instead of editing my first post.
- Inclusion of the other Markdown extensions. I noticed that some other programs use the other ones that use the other ones.
- Retention of layout in the sidebar between sessions; this is related to the quirk.
I understand that these might be possible features and I wish you luck on them. And there is no need to reply if you only need to agree; just liking is enough!
