KMail coding of emails with digital sgnature

Hello,
I usually signing (and encrypting if possible) my emails. However, with the provider gmx.de, gmx.com and gmx.net I have the problem that the signature gets corrupted and is not readable by the reciever.
According to a thread in the (german) thunderbird forum [1] this is because gmx converts emails with a Content-Transfer-Encoding CTE=“8bit” to CTE=“quoted-printable” (qp).
How can I make KMail use a CTE=qp or BASE=64?

Thanks,
Johannes

@johannesk:

Maybe this KDE PIM mail-list entry – <kmail automatcally switch between 7bit, qoutedprintale and base64 (based on how much non ascii charactares there are)>

What happens if, there’re no umlaut characters in the e-Mail.

Hi,
indeed the subject and single line in a test email was:
Keine Umlaute

This time it worked.

However in the emails before there were also no umlaute and it didn’t work…
only normal charactesr and #-- ".
I will try on and report. But there is no setting to force qp or base64?

Thanks

AFAICS, no.

Maybe a feature request via the KDE Bug Reporting is needed – <KDE Bugtracking System>
