Kmail error with outook accounts

Hey there,

After a couple of years of these accounts working just fine with kmail, I’ve started getting a popup with this error whenever the app tries to sync the messages.

This has been happening for a couple of weeks now.

Login failed, server replied: A000002 NO AUTHENTICATE failed.

This happens with both of my outlook accounts.

Tried changing the account settings to SSL/TLS or STARTTLS with their corresponding ports, to no avail.

The activities page on these accounts shows “successful sync”.

Any ideas?

I started seeing this recently as well with my test account. But it randomly works and connects and syncs - not sure what is going on there.

I am looking into implementing support for OAuth login for Outlook/Office365, which would make Kmail work also with accounts with 2FA and seems to be preferred method for MS , so it should be more reliable. Hopefully soon :slight_smile:

Yes, it is also the case here that sometimes it does sync, randomly.
